A Mophological Study on the Elastic Fibers of the Artery Wall of Rats by high Fat deit and Peucedanum Japonicum Thunberg Extract Administration

Abstract
¢¥fills e_1p.;riment was carried out to study the morphology of the elastic fibers of 4 kinds of arteries ; Sup. mesenteric artery, celiac trunk, renal artery and common iliac arrtery. We used relatively 36 mature, healthy rats less than 230gm in weights, divided into 6 reaps ; Cantrolled ¥° group, ¥± group, ¥² Igroup, ¥³ group and ¥´ group respectively, breeding for 45 days by feeding high fat and administering Peucedanum Japonicum Thumberg Extract. after that we examined and observed the relative emergence numbers, morphology, and distributions of the elastic fibers of the 4 kinds of arteries and so the following results were obtained.
1. The delopment of the elastic fibers in the arterial wall of feeding high fat was relatively poor in numbers and density in comparison with normal group.
2. Internal elastic laminae were to be observed in all the experimental groups, the highast development was seen in the renal artery of the ¥± experimental group and the celiac trunk and retrial artery of the ¥² experimental group.
3. The elastic laminae of the media were developed highest in the common iliac artery of the ¥° experimental group and Sup, inesenteric artery of the ¥² experimental group in all of the experimental groups.
4. Adventitia was to be observed in all the experimental groups, but ext. elastic lamina was not to be observed, or to be observed poorly. Tire highest development was observed in the Sup. mesenteric artery of the ¥² experimental group in all of the experimentaI groups.
